Sword and Lotus- A Survivor Support Group

A brand new support group for survivors, created by a community member. Open to anyone on the femme part of the spectrum, definitely inclusive of trans femme folks.

From the organizer:

Hey friends and family. So I wanted to introduce something that is very close to my heart and is something I’ve been working on bringing to fruition for a while. You all know recent struggles with my stalker and some of you know past traumas that I have. It’s unfortunate that our community doesn’t really represent everyone when it comes to sexual harm and receiving help and support. I’ve always strived to be an advocate for our community and instead of complaining about what we don’t have, I try to make the need fulfilled. I have created a peer-led support group that will be meeting at least once a month, possibly more. It is very important for me to provide a space that does not allow judgment or shame.

** I chose the symbol of the sword and lotus because the sword represents Justice and the lotus represents rebirth and purity out of darkness. To me it shows clarity and Justice and healing growing from pain or muddy circumstances.

** This peer-led support circle is created for women, trans women and femme identifying people who have experienced sexual harm. This is a safe and compassionate space to connect, share and heal together.

FIRST MEETING: Dec 2nd 7-9pm
